La mer Rouge, point névralgique du sport golfien

Le sport, les rives de la mer Rouge et leur arrière-pays illustrent les relations privilégiées nouées par ces sociétés avec les États du golfe Arabo-Persique. Par ce prisme, entre mer Rouge et Golfe, c’est une histoire des centralités qui se dévoile, celles-ci illustrent alors les rapports de pouvoirs qui se jouent d’une rive à l’autre de la péninsule Arabique, des temps perliers aux rivalités régionales. Entre mer Rouge et Golfe, à travers le sport, c’est une histoire des imbrications entre les sociétés de ces deux ensembles qui se fait jour ainsi que les convoitises qu’inspirent la mer Rouge et son arrière-pays.
Abstract : The Red Sea, a nerve center of Gulf sport
Sport, the shores of the Red Sea and their hinterland illustrate the privileged relationships forged by these societies with the states of the Persian Gulf. Through this lens, between the Red Sea and the Gulf, a history of centralities is revealed, which illustrate the power relationships that play out from one side of the Arabian Peninsula to the other, from pearling times to regional rivalries. Between the Red Sea and the Gulf, through sport, a history of the interweaving of the societies of these two areas emerges, as well as the covetousness inspired by the Red Sea and its hinterland.
